Delete Your Account and Data - CriApp
Version: 1.0.0

This page explains how to delete your CriApp account and the data linked to it, what is removed, what is kept and why, and how to ask us to do it if you can no longer sign in. You do not need to install the app to read it. It complements the Privacy Policy, which is the reference document.
1. Delete your account from the app
This is the fastest route and works for every kind of member (owner, partner or caregiver).
- Open CriApp and sign in.
- Go to the More tab.
- At the bottom, in the Danger Zone section, tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, type the confirmation word shown on screen (delete when the app is in English) and tap Delete my account.
You are signed out immediately and the deletion continues in the background. When it has finished we send a confirmation message to the email address of the account.
If you have not finished setting the account up (for example, the app is still asking for your date of birth or for you to accept the terms again), the same Delete account button is on that screen.
2. What happens depending on your role
| Your role | What the deletion does |
|---|---|
| Owner, and nobody else is in the account | The whole account is erased: your profile, your children's profiles and all their records, photos and documents, and everything you wrote in the community. |
| Owner of a shared account | The deletion is refused while other members are still in the account, because it would erase their children's data too. The app tells you so. Remove the other members first, or leave the account yourself, and then delete. |
| Partner or caregiver | Only you are erased, never the family. You are first moved out of the household into an account of your own and that account is deleted. The family's data (children, tracking, health and medicine records, albums) is not touched: it belongs to the household. Entries you wrote in those records stay, with your name removed. If you also want a child's data erased, the owner of the household must do it. |
3. What is deleted
- Your account, profile and preferences, and your sign-in details (email, password or social sign-in link), your active sessions and any pending verification links.
- When the whole account is erased: every child profile, including the legal name and exact date of birth, which are stored encrypted; sleep, feeding and diaper logs; growth records, vaccinations, allergies, illnesses and medicines; pregnancy logs and bump photos; schedule, appointments and shopping lists; albums, photos and documents; invitations and the list of household members.
- What you authored in the community: recipes, posts, comments, votes and saved items, your profile picture and your recipe photos.
- Your notification registrations and any reminders still waiting to be sent.
- Data export files you requested.
Photos and documents are removed from our storage servers together with the database records.
4. What is kept, and why
| What | Why and for how long |
|---|---|
| Consent record: which policy versions you accepted, the language shown and the date and time. | We must be able to show that consent was given (legal obligations and defence of legal claims, GDPR Art. 17(3)(e)). On erasure the record is detached from your profile and the IP address and device details it held are erased. The Privacy Policy sets its retention at 5 years. |
| Security record of the request: that a deletion was requested, on which date, by an internal identifier. | Protects you and us against fraudulent or mistaken requests. It holds only random internal identifiers (no name, email or child data) which identify nobody once the account is gone. |
| Encrypted backups. | Our backups are encrypted and rotate: 7 daily, 4 weekly and 6 monthly snapshots. Data you deleted can remain inside a backup until that snapshot expires, which takes at most about 6 months. Backups are used only to recover from a disaster. |
| Error diagnostics. | If the app crashed, diagnostics may have been sent to our error-monitoring provider, linked only to a random identifier (never your name or email). They are not part of your account and expire under the provider's own retention period. |
We do not sell or share your personal data and CriApp v1.0 has no advertising.
5. How long it takes
- Immediately: you are signed out and the request is queued.
- In the background: the data in section 3 is erased as soon as the request is processed. If a step fails the system retries on its own. We commit to completing it within 30 days at the latest.
- Confirmation: an email is sent to the address of the account once it is done. If the request was not yours, write to us within 7 days of that message; after that the data cannot be recovered.
- Backups: expire as described in section 4.
6. If you can no longer sign in
Write to dpo@criapp.smarthuaraz.cloud from the email address registered in your account, with the subject "Delete my account". Tell us which country you registered from. We may reply to confirm that the account is yours before acting; please do not send passwords or documents about your child. We answer within 30 days. The rules of section 2 apply in the same way (a shared account with other members cannot be erased by its owner until they leave).
You can also use the same address to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it or to withdraw consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.
